DIY Blueberry Squishy from Mold to Demold
Do you want a realistic blueberry squishy toy? Let’s make this stress‑relief blueberry squishy together. It’s soft, bouncy, and fun to squeeze. All you need is the 0A silicone rubber and squishy‑making materials. Even beginners can do it with ease!
Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
Crafting Time: About 2 hours
Materials Preparation
- Materials: 0A silicone rubber, flex rubber, vaseline, silicone pigment paste, mica powder (dark blue color), mold housing, plastic sheet, hot melt glue
- Tools: measuring cups, stirring sticks, Air-Zero Bubble Remover, makeup brush, cotton swabs, dropper, isopropyl, translucent loose powder
- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a vapor mask for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 68~77 °F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window, or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Use hot glue to attach the mold housing to a plastic sheet. Then, fix the blueberries onto the plastic sheet inside the mold housing using hot glue.
Tip: Apply a small amount of Vaseline to the surface of the blueberries beforehand. This will make it easier to remove the blueberries from the cured silicone later.

Step 2
Mix the 0A silicone rubber at a 1:1 weight ratio. Stir for about 3 minutes until evenly blended. Pour the mixture into the mold housing, making sure the mixture completely covers the blueberries. Let it cure for 4–6 hours.
Tip: Before pouring the mixed silicone into the mold housing, let it sit for about 3–5 minutes, or place it in a bubble remover machine to remove bubbles.

Step 3
Carefully remove the blueberries from the mold. Your blueberry mold is done!
Tip: If the blueberries are too soft to pop out, place the whole mold (with the blueberries still inside) in the freezer. Once they firm up, they should come out easily.

Step 4
Using a cotton swab, apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the inside of the mold. Be careful not to apply too much; excess Vaseline can leave marks or affect the texture of the finished squishy.

Step 5
Mix the Flex Rubber at a 1:1 weight ratio. Add dark blue mica powder, then stir for about 3 minutes until the mixture is evenly blended.

Step 6
Use a dropper to draw up the mixture and drip it into the blueberry mold. Let it cure for 4–6 hours.

Step 7
Once the squishies are fully cured, spray a little alcohol on the mold to help release them. Gently peel them out with your fingers.
Tip: The squishies are really soft, so if you try to remove them without any lubrication (like alcohol or soap water), they might tear.

Step 8
After removing the squishies, wash them in soapy water to get rid of any leftover Vaseline. Next, prepare a small amount of purple and black Flex Rubber mixture. Dip a cotton swab into each color and gently dab the mixture onto the surface of the blueberries to add realistic color. Let them cure for another 4–6 hours.
Tips:
- Avoid using eyeshadow powder for coloring, as it fades quickly. If you want the color to stay on the surface without fading, even after cleaning your squishy, use this method instead. It’ll help the color stick better and last longer.
- Before adding the color, make sure you've completely removed all the Vaseline from the surface of the blueberry squishy.

Step 9
Using a makeup brush, lightly dust a small amount of translucent loose powder over the squishies to reduce any shine.

Step 10
Finally, pack your squishy in a bag, and you’re all set to play!

Pro Tip
If your squishy gets dirty or oily, just wash it with soapy water to restore its look. Avoid using paper towels, as the fibers can stick. A lint-free cloth works best for wiping it clean.
