- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a respirator for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-By-Step Instruction
Step 1
Mix epoxy resin in a 1:1 ratio by volume thoroughly. Once mixed, let it rest for 2–3 minutes to help the air bubbles rise or use a bubble remover.

Step 2
Pour the mixed resin into your coaster mold and let it cure for 12 hours until fully cured.
Tip: You can gently pop the bubbles using a toothpick, or give the surface a light mist of alcohol spray to remove them.

Step 3
Mix glitter with UV resin (use more glitter than resin for sharper, more visible lines). Using a fine brush, paint your desired lines or swirls onto the cured resin surface. Cure under UV lamp for 2 minutes.
Tip: The amount of glitter should be more than UV resin, and the lines will be clearer.

Step 4
Pour a thin layer of clear epoxy resin over the design to seal everything. Let it cure for another 12 hours.

Step 5
Once everything’s fully cured, take your metallic chrome marker and carefully color the outer rim of the coaster. Let it set for 6–8 hours for a smudge-free, professional look.

Pro Tip
In cold weather, epoxy resin becomes thicker and more prone to bubbling. To help with this, soak the resin bottles in warm water (around 122°F) for about 10 minutes before mixing. This will improve fluidity and reduce trapped air.
