Epoxy Resin Paper Towel Storage Tray
Looking for a paper towel holder that’s both practical and stylish? Try making this super shiny marble pattern tray yourself! It’s easier than you think, no special skills required.
Difficulty: ★★★☆☆
Production time: about an hour
Tool and Material Preparation
- Materials: Regular epoxy resin, 10-color pigment paste, metallic chrome marker, 36-color mica powder, large tray mold, glitter, split cup, crystal cluster, paper towel holder
- Tools: Measuring cup, stirring stick
- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a respirator for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Combine epoxy resin in a 1:1 ratio by volume. Stir thoroughly, then let it sit for about 2 minutes or use a bubble remover machine to remove bubbles.

Step 2
Warm the resin to about 108°F, then pour it into the mold. Add mica powders, pigment, or glitter powders to different sections of your split cup as desired, and mix evenly.
Tip: When using color paste and mica powder, slightly increase the amount (but keep it under 5% of the total resin) to achieve a solid, non-transparent effect. This will make your patterns clearer and more defined.

Step 3
Place the paper twowel holder onto the tray mold before pouring

Step 4
Carefully pour the colored resin onto the tray mold, adjusting the flow to create your preferred marble-like curves and arcs. Allow 12–24 hours to cure.

Step 5
Once the first layer has cured, place a crystal cluster on the tray for an elegant decorative touch.

Step 6
Use metallic markers to draw fine line decorations on the resin surface for added detail.

Step 7
Pour a layer of clear resin top coat over the tray. This will secure the crystal cluster and add a glossy finish. Let it cure for 24 hours, and your marble drip tray is ready to use!

Professional Advice
For a perfectly even surface and consistent thickness, always work on a flat, level surface (use a spirit level if needed).
