- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a respirator for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Precautions
Precautions 1: Resin Usage & Temperature Control
The amount of resin used and the temperature at which it is poured determine how evenly it spreads across the vase surface. This, in turn, affects the overall smoothness and shine of the final piece.
Common Problem: The epoxy doesn’t cover evenly or slips off the vase. Or the resin is too thin to stick properly.
1.Cause：Insufficient epoxy usage
Solution
For a vase with a bottom width of 3.3 in, height of 9 in, and opening of 4.5 in (as shown in the tutorial), you’ll need about 45 oz of epoxy.
2.Cause：Resin temperature is too low
Solution
After mixing your chosen colors, let the resin sit and warm naturally to 122–130°F. Once it thickens slightly, begin pouring. This allows the colors to blend evenly and prevents large solid patches that could spoil the marbled effect.
Precautions 2: Color Concentration Control
The clarity of your patterns depends on both the color concentration and the resin temperature. Without proper balance, the final result may look dull and flat.
Common Problem
The pattern looks faint, and marble veins aren’t obvious.
Cause: Colors are mixed too lightly.
Solution
When using solid pigment pastes or pearlescent powders, add a bit more to achieve richer, more opaque color. This makes marble veining stand out.
4. Step-by-Step Epoxy Vase Pouring
Now that we know the key precautions, let’s go through the step-by-step process for creating a stunning epoxy-coated vase.
Step 1
Mix your chosen resin colors thoroughly. Then wait until the resin warms to 122–130°F before pouring.
Step 2
Apply a thin coat of clear resin to the glass vase. This helps the colored resin glide smoothly.
Step 3
Slowly pour the different colored resins in a clockwise motion onto the vase. This allows the resin to spread evenly and forms the base for a marbled effect.
Step 4
Layer your colors in the order you prefer. For more dramatic veining, use a cross-pouring technique.
Step 5
After pouring, place the vase on a silicone pad and allow it to cure.
Step 6
Leftover resin can be poured into tray molds. If it’s too thick, use a heat gun to soften and level it.
Step 7
After 8 hours, check the tray. In summer, curing takes about 8 hours; in winter, 12–24 hours may be needed. Demold while the resin is firm but still flexible. 
Step 8
Gently shape the tray in a plastic basin, then let it fully cure.
Step 9
Once hardened, use a gold marker to decorate the edges for an elegant finish.

Your epoxy vase is ready! Place it on your desk or use it for flower arrangements. Just avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause resin colors to fade.
