Discarded branches can transform into a glowing resin bedside lamp! In just 8 simple steps, you can combine nature with art to create a unique night light. It's easy enough for beginners, too!

✨Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆

⏰Crafting Time: About 3~4 hours.

:tool:Materials Preparation

  • Materials: Deep Pour Resin, Gold Foil, Dried Branches, Acrylic Plate, Fairy Lights
  • Tool: Large Measuring Cups, Hot Glue Gun
  • Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a vapor mask for safe handling.

:gauge:Environment Setup

  • Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 64.4~71.6 °F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
  • Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window, or use an air purifier for better airflow.

:zoomer2:Step-by-step Instructions

Step 1

Prepare acrylic plates of suitable sizes and use a hot glue gun to glue the edges, assembling them into an acrylic mold. This type of mold is ideal for creating deeper and taller shapes.

:alert:Tip: It is recommended to apply two layers of hot glue to enhance the seal and prevent resin leakage.

Place the fairy lights inside the acrylic mold, making sure the switch remains outside.

ResinArtDIYResinArtDIYStep 3

Place the dried branches inside the mold and secure them in place.

:alert:Tip: The branches should be fully dried. Any moisture in the resin may cause a flash cure or result in sticky, improperly cured resin.

Step 4

Deep pour resin is particularly suitable for creating resin art pieces that require thickness, capable of achieving depths of 2 to 4 inches. Mix the resin in a volume ratio of 2:1, and stir until the mixture is clear and there are no swirls. Compared to regular resin, deep pour resin has better fluidity, making it easier to stir and work with.

Step 5

Add gold foil to the resin as a decoration. Control the total working time within 80 minutes.

:alert:Tip: When working with deep pour resin, please maintain the indoor temperature between 64.4–71.6 °F, since the high temperatures can easily cause the resin to flash cure.

Step 6

Pour the resin mixture into the mold, keeping the depth within 2–4 inches.

:alert:Tip: Do not fill the resin over the top of the mold. Leave some space. This will make it easier to pry open the mold during demolding.

Step 7

After waiting 48 hours for the resin to fully cure, it's time to demold. Remove the acrylic frame and the hot glue strips.

Step 8

Deep pour resin is less prone to forming bubbles, resulting in a piece that appears clearer. This type of artwork is perfectly suited for bedroom decor.

Combining natural elements with handmade craftsmanship gives the resin pieces a vibrant quality. Why not give it a try? I’m excited to see what you create!
