Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆
Crafting time: 1 hour
Material Preparation
- Materials: 1:1 regular epoxy resin, coaster resin molds set, holographic paper, black resin pigment paste
- Tools: Scissors, marker, mixing sticks
- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a respirator for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Mix regular epoxy resin in a 1:1 ratio, stir thoroughly, and let it sit for about 2 minutes to eliminate air bubbles, or use Air Zero Bubble Remover for bubble removal.

Step 2
Pour the resin mixture into the coaster mold (a thin layer). Cut the holographic paper to an appropriate size, crumple it to create wrinkles, and place it into the coaster. Allow it to cure for approximately 12 hours.
Tip: After placing the holographic paper, be sure to press it down to push any bubbles toward the sides.

Step 3
Mix another batch of 1:1 regular epoxy resin, add black pigment paste, and stir evenly. Pour the black resin mixture into the coaster and wait for it to cure.

Step 4
Demold to reveal your dazzling finished coaster!

Pro Tip
When using 1:1 regular epoxy resin in winter, it may become thicker, which can easily lead to bubble formation in the finished piece. It is recommended to soak the resin bottles in 122°F warm water to restore their fluidity before use.
