:question:Why Silicone Molds Need Special Techniques?

While silicone molds are flexible, complex textures, deep cavities, or large contact surfaces wil make it difficult to demold. Forcing removal may damage the mold.

Check the Curing Status of the Finished Project

Before demolding, check if the project is fully cured. Press the product lightly with your finger. If it springs back, it’s not fully cured. Never demold uncured pieces.

Three Different Demolding Techniques

:shining:Lubricants (Alcohol/Soapy Water/Baby Oil)

Spray lubricant along mold edges, then gently flex and massage the mold to release.

:shining:Freezer Shrink Demold Methods

If demolding is still difficult after using lubricants, place the cured product in the freezer for 20 minutes, since the Cold contraction creates micro-gaps. (Please note that the resin should be fully cured.) After that, combine with soapy water for easy release.

:shining:Mold Release Spray

If you use acrylic molds or non-silicone molds, it's recommended to always spray the mold release agent evenly inside the mold before pouring resin. Then demold it after the project is fully cured.

:alarm:IMPORTANT REMINDER:

  • Ensure the resin is fully cured before placing it into the freezer. Otherwise, low temperature and moisture will inhibit resin curing, resulting in difficult demolding.
  • Allow the mold to return to room temperature before reuse after freezing. This prevents deformation caused by temperature differences.
