How to preserve your Valentine's roses into a resin keepsake? This is a perfect UV resin project for beginners. It's simple to make and ideal for gifting. Let's try it together!
Difficulty: ★☆☆☆☆
Crafting Time: About 20 minutes
Materials Preparation
- Materials: Golden Rings, UV Resin, Dried Roses, Foil Flakes
- Tools: Resin Tape, Tweezers, Stirring Sticks, UV Flash Light, Wireless UV Light
- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a vapor mask for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 68~77 °F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window, or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Cut a piece of resin tape with scissors. The length should be sufficient to wrap around the ring. Place the resin tape flat on the table with the sticky side up.

Step 2
Apply a small amount of UV resin to the rings. Secure the rings onto the tape, and cure it with a UV flashlight for 20 seconds.
Tip: A small amount of UV resin helps the curved surface of the ring adhere more firmly to the tape.

Step 3
After making sure both rings are securely attached to the resin tape, place a stirring stick between the two rings. Gently twist the stick to rotate the rings and wind up the resin tape. This will wrap the tape around the rings and create a gap between them.

Step 4
Cut the prepared dried rose into small pieces.

Step 5
Turn on the wireless UV light. Apply a small amount of UV resin into the inner gap between the two rings. Rotate the ring to spread the resin evenly, forming a thin coating inside the gap.

Step 6
Quickly place dried flowers and foil flakes into the gap by using tweezers.
Tip: Working under the UV light can speed up the crafting process, but it requires more skill. If you’re a beginner and this is your first time crafting, it’s recommended to add a small amount of dried flowers and foil flakes first, then cure it under the UV lamp.

Step 7
After this layer with dried flowers and foil flakes is cured, there might be some raised areas or uneven surfaces. Apply a small amount of additional UV resin into the gap, rotate the ring again to spread it evenly, and smooth out the imperfections. Place the ring under the UV light and cure for 3 minutes.
Tip: Because the ring has a curved surface, rotating it will help control the UV resin flow and ensure even coverage.

Step 8
After the ring has cooled completely, gently peel off the resin tape. Now, your ring is finished!

Professional Tip
UV resin will release heat during the curing process, so the ring will be hot after curing. Touching it directly with your hands before it has cooled down could hurt you, or the surface of the ring might get smudged with fingerprints or dust. Please always allow the ring to cool fully before touching it.
