:laughing:Hello, resin artists! If you already enjoy the clarity and creativity of epoxy resin, it might be time to explore something new—polyurethane resin, the speed expert of the resin family. This material cures into a smooth, bright white finish that makes colors stand out beautifully. Even better, it works fast. Projects like the one shown can cure in as little as 10 minutes, giving your workflow a serious boost.

  • Advantages (Beginner-Friendly)

Characteristics

The cured resin has a pure white finish and is easy to work with. Its low viscosity allows it to capture fine details accurately.

Working Time

The working time is approximately 2 minutes. We recommend mixing and using small batches at a time to avoid waste.

Curing Time

Under normal room temperature, demolding can be done in about 10 minutes. This enables fast and batch production, saving significant time.

Suitable Applications

With a hardness of approximately 72D, it is compatible with most art projects and ideal for models, sculptures, and similar creations.

  • Limitations

Short Working Time

Due to its fast-curing nature, we strongly advise completing all preparations before mixing the two parts (A and B). Mix only the amount needed for the current session to make the most of the working time and prevent waste.

Color Customization

To avoid color dilution caused by the white base, we recommend a "cure first, paint later" approach. Let the resin fully cure into a pure white blank, then apply paint on the surface. This method preserves the true, vibrant color of your pigments.

Scope of Application

Compared to epoxy resin, polyurethane resin has a narrower range of applications and is mainly used for small to medium-sized crafts and artworks.

StepsInstructions
PreparationResin: Polyurethane resin. Tools: Measuring cups, mixing sticks, silicone molds, toothpicks, isopropyl alcohol. Protective Gear: Gloves and a vapor mask (ensure proper personal protection). Work Surface: Silicone mat (to protect the desktop and facilitate easy cleanup).
EnvironmentAmbient Temperature: Maintain between 73–78°F (23–26°C). Humidity: Keep below 50–60% RH. Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window, or use an air purifier for better airflow.

StepsInstructions
MixingPour the polyurethane resin into a measuring cup and mix the two parts in a 1:1 ratio by volume or weight.
StirringStir slowly in one consistent direction until the mixture begins to feel warm.
Pouring into MoldPour slowly into the silicone mold. If bubbles form in corners, gently squeeze the mold to release them.
CuringIdeal temperature: 75–85°F. Working time: ~2 minutes. Curing time: ~10 minutes.
Demolding & SandingUse soapy water or isopropyl alcohol to assist demolding. Sand edges with 400–2000 grit sandpaper to smooth sharp edges.
CleaningClean molds and work surfaces with isopropyl alcohol or nail polish remover to remove any uncured residue.

Brittleness After Curing① Avoid making pieces that are too thin; recommended pouring thickness is over 0.4 inches. ② When demolding, start from the edges and apply slow, even pressure to release the piece—avoid using excessive force.Polyurethane Resin SharingPolyurethane Resin Sharing
