Resin Waste Disposal Guide

Working with resin is fun and creative, but it’s just as important to know how to clean up safely and responsibly. Here are some easy methods to deal with resin waste and keep your tools, containers, and workspace in good shape.
Cleaning Tools and Containers
- Cured resin: If there’s leftover resin in your container, let it fully cure. Once hardened, you can simply peel it off by hand and throw it away.
- Uncured resin: For resin that won’t cure, use a paper towel sprayed with rubbing alcohol to wipe away as much as possible. Then wash the container with warm soapy water, dry it with a paper towel, and let it air-dry completely.
Cleaning Countertops
- Cured resin: Hardened resin bits can be gently scraped up. Peel them off and discard.
- Uncured resin: Wipe up the sticky residue with a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.
Disposing of Leftover Resin
Never pour uncured resin down the sink or drain - it can clog pipes and cause a big mess. Instead, pour any leftover resin into a silicone measuring cup or mold. Let it cure and demold the next day, then discard it safely.
