The advantages & limitations of opaque vs. transparent squishy gel
Opaque Squishy Gel Advantages
Decompression effect
Soft and delicate texture with great rebound—quickly returns to shape after squeezing. Effectively relieves tension, perfect for everyday relaxation.
Features
Squishy gel liquid appears milky white, provides rich color saturation and highly realistic results,it can accurately present the true color and texture of animals and objects.
Best for
All kinds of simulated items, animals and doll designs.
Limitations
Requires at least 4 hours of curing time, needs multiple rounds of powder coating, otherwise surfaces may remain sticky.

Transparent Squishy Gel Advantages
Features
Crystal-clear finish with excellent light transmission. The taba squishy shape with a transparent texture can be completed, highlighting its moist and lively characteristics.
Best for
Fruits, desserts (such as transparent jelly), and jellyfish types.
Limitations
Applying powder will affect its transparent texture.

Step-by-step instructions
1.Workspace & Material Preparation
Materials: Squishy gel
Tools: Measuring cup, mixing stick, silicone molds, toothpicks, Vaseline, brush, flocking powder, storage box/bag
Coloring Materials: Silicone pigment paste
Protective Tools: Gloves, N95 mask, silicone mat (protects tables and makes cleanup easier)
2. Environment Setup
Temperature: 73–78°F
Humidity: Below 50–60% RH (high humidity prevents proper curing)
Ventilation: Work near a window, or use AC or an air purifier

| Process | Production Steps |
|---|---|
| Mixing | Measure equal parts A & B (1:1ratio, ≤5% error) using a digital scale |
| Stirring | Stir slowly in one direction for 3–5 minutes until it becomes transparent and free of filaments, during the process, you can scrape off the residual glue on the cup wall to reduce the formation of bubbles |
| Coloring | Add the silicone color paste in small amounts in batches(opaque gel: 1–2 drops at a time; transparent gel: avoid overuse to maintain clarity). Stir for 30 seconds each time until uniform。 |
| Degassing | ①Let sit 5–10 minutes and pop surface bubbles with a toothpick ②Vacuuming should be carried out immediately after stirring until there are no obvious bubbles (about 1-2 minutes). |
| Apply vaseline | Apply Vaseline evenly with a soft brush, focusing on detailed corners, avoid local adhesion of the finished produc |
| Pouring | Pour slowly along mold walls to reduce bubble formation; pour it to 80% full and then gently shake the mold (drop it vertically 3 to 5 times) to expel the air bubbles at the bottom, and then fill it up. |
| Curing | Room temp: 4 hrs at 73–78°F;Low temp (<68°F): Extend to 6–8 hrs; Heating curing is prohibited (reduces rebound quality) |
| Demolding | Soak mold in warm soapy water for 1 min, gently peel from the edge (for large projects, you can first insert a toothpick from the corner to assist in separation) |
| Powdering | Evenly dip a wool brush in the flocking powder/loose powder (fine particle type is recommended), gently sweep the surface of the finished product, and clean up the excess powder with a brush |
| Decorating | Match with your favorite small balls/beads/sequins/other decorations |
| Packaging | Seal the bag tightly |
| Cleaning | After long-term use, if the surface of the finished product is dirty, it can be cleaned again with soapy water |
