Transparent Octopus Squishy Toy
Have you ever been captivated by those transparent and bouncy stress-relief toys? We’ll guide you through making a complete Octopus stress-relief squishy toy!
Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
Crafting Time: 2-3 hours
Material Preparation
- Materials: 28oz transparent flex rubber kit, octopus mold, Vaseline, silicone pigment paste, decorative eyes & mouth.
- Tools: Digital scale, mixing sticks, measuring cups, soapy water.
- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a mask for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the inner surface of the mold. A light coating is sufficient to avoid leaving texture marks on the final product due to excessive application.

Step 2
Mix the flex rubber in a 1:1 weight ratio, add silicone pigment paste, and stir until thoroughly combined (about 1–2 minutes).
Tip:Let the mixed flex rubber sit for 3–5 minutes to allow bubbles to dissipate before pouring it into the mold.

Step 3
Pour the mixed flex rubber into the resin. Let it sit for 4 hours to be cured.

Step 4
Demold it in soapy water, and clean off any surface Vaseline. Then it's ready to play with!
Tip:Demolding in water is easier and helps prevent forceful demold, which could tear the finished squishy toy.

Step 5
Finally, attach the decorative eyes & mouth to the octopus, and you'll have created an adorable, transparent octopus!

Step 6
You can use a syringe to inject bubbles into the squishy toy and then pop them—the satisfying pop and crackle sounds make it so much fun!

Pro Tip
If your squishy toy gets dirty or oily, clean it with soapy water. Avoid using paper towels or tissues to prevent paper residue from sticking to them. It's recommended to use a lint-free cloth for wiping.
