UV Pearls Plant
Turn ordinary fishing line into magical plant strings that shimmer with light using UV resin! This beginner-friendly DIY project takes just 1-2 hours to create pearl-like, shiny decorative planters.
Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
Crafting Time: About 1–2 hours
Material Preparation
Materials: Pearlescent UV Resin, Colored UV Resin, Resin Tape, Fishing Line
Tools: UV lamp, Silicone Mat
Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a respirator for safe handling.
Environment Setup
Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH. UV resin should be stored and used in a dark place. Exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light can make it cure too quickly and harden before you’re ready.
Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window, or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-step Instructions
Step 1
Cut the fishing line to your desired length, straighten it, and fix it onto the silicone mat with tape.

Step 2
Place small, pea-sized drops of UV resin evenly along the fishing line, then cure under the UV lamp for about 2 minutes.
Tip: Applying UV resin from large to small droplets lends the sculpture greater dynamism and realism.

Step 3
After shaping the design, turn on the UV lamp and cure it for 2 minutes.

Step 4
Once cured, turn the piece over, add another drop of UV resin on the back, and cure again. This will form a sphere.

Step 5
Let them cure again for 2 minutes.

Step 6
Using an iron wire to assemble the fishing line and the mixing stick.

Step 7
Finally, insert the stick into the planter, and sprinkle small stones to secure it. Look! This fascinating potted creation sparkles under the light, brightening up your living space when placed indoors.

Pro Tip
It is not recommended to expose the finished product to direct sunlight for extended periods, as this may cause oxidation and fading.
