Missing some dark-themed small projects for Halloween? Just grab a pinch of chameleon powder, sprinkle it into the mold, and fill it up with UV resin. Once demolded, you’ll have a sparkling spider ready! You can make it yourself in just half an hour!
Difficulty: ★★☆☆☆
Crafting Time: About 30 minutes
Material Preparation
- Materials: Low viscosity UV resin, double-sided UV light, small sphere mold, alcohol ink, chameleon powder, clear earring studs
- Tools: Mixing sticks, paintbrush, measuring cups
- Protective Equipment: Always wear nitrile waterproof gloves, a waterproof apron, and a respirator for safe handling.
Environment Setup
- Ideal Conditions: Maintain a temperature between 73–78°F with humidity no higher than 50–60% RH.
- Ventilation: Work in a well-ventilated area, ideally near a window, or use an air purifier for better airflow.
Step-by-Step Operation Process
Step 1
Pour two-thirds of the UV resin into the mold and cure it under a double-sided UV light for about 2 minutes.

Step 2
Add black alcohol ink and chameleon powder to the remaining UV resin, mix well, then pour into the mold and cure again. (Make two pieces: one larger for the spider’s body, one smaller for the head.)

Step 3
After demolding, use a paintbrush to apply a small amount of UV resin to attach the smaller piece to the larger one as the head, and cure under the UV light to complete the spider’s main body.

Step 4
Apply a small amount of UV resin to both ends of a clear earring studs and fix it to the spider’s body, then cure for 2 minutes.

Step 5
Finally, mix UV resin with black and red alcohol ink to add color details, cure for another 2 minutes, and complete your delicate and eye-catching spider!

Professional Suggestion
If using UV resin during winter, it may become thicker and prone to trapping bubbles in your creation.
It is recommended to place the bottle in warm water at 122°F (50°C) to restore its fluidity before use.
